PSA Peugeot Citroen engineer Gilberg new AUTOSAR spokesperson
Kenji Nishikawa, Project General Manager, Automotive Software Engineering Division of Toyota Motor Corporation and member of the AUTOSAR Steering Committee, takes over from Stefan Schmerler, Senior Manager Advanced Engineering E/E Architecture and Standards at Daimler, as the new deputy spokesperson. Both Stefan Bunzel and Stefan Schmerler remain members of the AUTOSAR Steering Committee commissioned to map out AUTOSAR's long-term objectives.
“The coming period will be challenging for AUTOSAR as we will be launching the conformance tests with Release 4.0.2,” Alain Gilberg said. “This is a big step towards the interoperability of basic software modules and the continuity of the standard. In addition, we will have to issue Release 3.2 and finalize the conceptual work of Release 4.1 in this phase.”
Gilberg has a background in software engineering and is very experienced in the field of ECU development and software architecture in the automotive domain. He joined PSA Peugeot Citroën in 1990 and is currently responsible for technical policy with regard to electronics and software developments in the PSA Peugeot Citroën electronics department. Since 2004, Gilberg has been the project leader for PSA Peugeot Citroën in the AUTOSAR initiative and has been controlling the strategy regarding the rollout of AUTOSAR. In mid-2010, Gilberg also became a member of the AUTOSAR Steering Committee.
Besides the preparation of the planned AUTOSAR release 4.0, an important issue for Gilberg will be the situation in emerging markets in Asia. “AUTOSAR will intensify its links to China”, Gilberg said.
